In the Mahabharata, Draupadi's saree could not be unwound — however hard anyone pulled, there was always more cloth. We loved that image: a saree as something endless, protective and quietly powerful. That is the feeling we want every woman to have when she wears one of ours.
From Kerala to the UK
House of Draupadi was founded in 2026 in Stoke-on-Trent by a family who missed the ease of walking into a saree shop back home. Buying online from India meant weeks of waiting, surprise customs charges and colours that never quite matched the photograph.
So we started bringing small batches over ourselves. Every saree is handpicked from weavers and family-run stores in Kerala, checked by hand when it arrives in the UK, photographed in natural light, and paired with a ready-made blouse so it's ready to wear the day it reaches you.
What We Stand For
- Honest colour. What you see in the photograph is what arrives — we shoot every piece ourselves.
- Small batches. A handful of each design, never warehouses full. When a set is gone, it's gone.
- Personal service. Sizing, styling, gift wrapping, a date you need it by — just message us on WhatsApp.
- Wear it your way. Kasavu for Onam, mul for a summer picnic, a jewel-toned set for a wedding reception. Tradition, without the rules.

Kasavu
Kerala's signature cream cotton with a golden zari border — the saree of Onam, Vishu and temple mornings.
Tissue
A finer, shimmering weave where gold thread runs through the whole body. Catches the light beautifully at evening functions.
Mul Cotton
Soft, breathable mulmul that drapes like a second skin. Our 120-count premium mul is the lightest of all.
